Eckartsberg is not a project and not a stylistic device.
It is a hillside in the Kaiserstuhl, shaped by volcanic origin, wind and time. From 2026 onward, Eckartsberg will become the spatial reference point of Raspini Winery.
ECKARTSBERG – SITE & SOIL
Eckartsberg is located above Breisach and belongs to the clearly defined sites of the Kaiserstuhl.
The subsoil is of volcanic origin, overlaid with loess, offering good drainage and high heat retention.
This combination reveals itself in wines with structure, inner tension and natural calm.
Not through power, but through density.
WHY ECKARTSBERG
The decision for Eckartsberg arose from observation.
Not from calculation.
Over the years it became evident that this place enables the kind of wines we are looking for: precise, quiet, age-worthy — without needing explanation.
Eckartsberg requires patience.
It reveals little at first, but it endures over time.
CULTIVATION
The vineyard is farmed with restraint.
Not monoculture as a principle, but diversity as a prerequisite for stability.
The work in the vineyard is defined by manual labor, selective harvesting and clear yield limitation. The goal is not maximization, but balance.
Eckartsberg is not optimized.
It is accompanied.
IN THE WINE
Wines from Eckartsberg are not loud. They show depth without heaviness and structure without hardness.
Pinot Blanc in particular finds a form here that corresponds to our understanding of classical, contemporary wine:
clear, structured, precise.
The place remains perceptible — even after years.
A PLACE WITHIN THE
RASPINI WINERY PROJECT
Eckartsberg is not a unique selling point.
It is a point of reference.
Within Raspini Winery, it stands for concentration, decision and direction.
Not everything originates here, but much is conceived from here.
